Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Policy
Introduction
CompEx is committed to ensuring equality of opportunity and freedom from unlawful discrimination for all learners, centre staff, including contracted and peripatetic individuals. We aim to prevent discrimination on the grounds of age, sex, sexual orientation, disability, race (including colour, nationality, and ethnic origin), religion or beliefs, gender reassignment, pregnancy and maternity status, and marital or civil partnership status.

Definitions of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion
• Equality is not about treating everyone the same, but about treating people fairly and understanding that some individuals or groups have specific needs that must be met to ensure they have equal access to opportunities.
• Diversity means recognising and valuing the differences in learners, centres, and staff. These differences enrich the CompEx community and offer unique perspectives that enhance the learning experience.
• Inclusion is about creating an environment where learners and centres feel fully integrated, respected, and able to participate, regardless of their background or personal circumstances. It promotes a sense of belonging and engagement across the CompEx network.

CompEx’s ethos promotes an open, inclusive, and respectful environment for all learners, centre staff, instructors and assessors.
